Rafael Cervantes

General Manager

“I started in the restaurant industry as a bus boy at Hereford House at the ripe age of 16.  After changing my major on several occasions, I figured out that restaurants are my true passion.  I entered the world of management at 22 and never looked back.  I joined La Bodega in 2005 & everyone here is like my family.  When I am not in our stores, you will find me training for  half-marathons or rooting on our Kansas City favorites – The Chiefs & The Royals!”

Executive Chef

Jeremy Carpenter

Sous Chef

I got hooked on the Hospitality Industry when I was hired at the age of 16 at Woodlands Racetrack to work in the banquet department.  After high school, I continued my education at Central Missouri State, where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Restaurant Management.  I’ve been leading kitchens for over a decade now, spending the majority of that time working for 2 of KC’s finest BBQ restaurants. While not at La Bodega absorbing everything I can about Spanish Cuisine, I am spending time with my wife and 3 sons (mostly playing catch or building with Legos!)

Jamie Zoeller

Manager

I began my life in the service industry at the age of 19, working corporate coffee in Chicago. Years later, I ended up in Lawrence, Kansas. After receiving a couple of degrees from the University of Kansas School of Business, I returned to Chicago and dove right back into the restaurant scene, working at Longman & Eagle. I moved to Kansas City in 2013 to help open up Voltaire restaurant in the West Bottoms. I now live in Shawnee, Kansas with my wife Liz and daughter Cory. When not working, you may find us at a Royals game, or taking in the ballet or opera at the Kauffman Center
